Summer in France is truly a dream. The weather is beautiful, the sun has a special glow, and there’s a feeling of love in the air. This chic French countryside engagement captures all of my feelings towards this time of year.
These photos were captured in a small village in the depths of Normandy. We roamed the the streets of the village, stopping by the beautiful blooms of summertime. The session then transitioned to a magnificent oak tree with the most gorgeous light dancing across the water. We took part in a late afternoon picnic, munching on camembert and a fresh baguette sourced from a bakery in town.
I love when bride-to-be’s embrace this special time in their lives by adorning themselves in the color white. The bride-to-be wore the most chic jumpsuit while traversing the village, and changed into a gorgeous midi dress with ruffle details. The groom wore a classic suit to begin the day, and transitioned into a more French countryside meets Ralph Lauren look.
As a photographer, it’s essential to embrace the culture and stories that lie within a location. For this session, we didn’t want to feel as though it were two Americans on vacation in the French countryside. The story captured here is the afternoon stroll of a chic couple familiar with this quaint village just a few hours outside of Paris, enjoying the relaxed laissez-faire vibe that accompanies the late summers of France.
