Wow, I can’t believe I am just now getting around to writing this post about Emma and Mike’s engagement photos! You may remember them from this gorgeous vineyard proposal.
In case you aren’t familiar with Emma and Mike, they just so happen to be my best friends. After photographing their proposal, you can bet I was anxiously waiting for them to also photograph their engagement photos.
New York has such a special place in my heart. It is one of my favorite cities in the whole world (next to Paris). There’s something about the city that just leaves me feeling energized and creatively inspired. It also isvery photogenic. When we were coming up for a date and location for Emma and Mike’s engagement photos, New York was the most logical option. We all were planning on being in the city for a Notre Dame football game, so it just made sense to do their engagement photos the next day.
We decided on taking photos outside the Met and throughout Central Park on a Sunday morning. For those of you who aren’t familiar with New York, the city truly doesn’t wake up on weekends until 11am. That means we had most of the Met and Central Park to ourselves for our whole session, which is crazy considering New York is one of the busiest places in the world.
This was one of my longest engagement sessions to date – four hours to be exact. I guess that happens when you have an entire park to explore for photos! We all just had so much fun finding different areas of the park to shoot, exploring various poses and angles. And I have to say, Emma and Mike were such troupers with the cold! For perspective, I was wearing a very thick North Face parka while Emma was wearing her delicate white maxi dress.
Emma and Mike – Thank you again for allowing me to take your engagement photos and for including me in this once in a lifetime memory. I loved helping to create these timeless and beautiful moments. Maybe one day we can do an anniversary session for you two out in Colorado!
