This Dunlin Auberge wedding just outside Charleston is one of those settings that immediately defines the direction of the day.
Marshland, live oaks, and a property that feels intentionally designed but still connected to the landscape. It’s distinctly coastal, but not in an obvious way.
As a hybrid film and digital wedding photographer working across destinations, this type of environment translates differently. The softness of the light, the color palette, and the way the space moves from outdoors to interiors all lend themselves to a more layered set of images.

The ceremony took place on the lawn, framed by large oak trees with Spanish moss and views of the marsh beyond.
Florals leaned into color without feeling overly styled. Soft peaches, yellows, creams, and touches of pink, arranged in a way that felt slightly undone and natural to the setting.
Wood chairs and an open aisle kept the structure minimal, allowing the landscape to stay present.

Throughout the day, the design avoided anything overly restrained.
The palette carried through from florals into paper goods and reception details. Pastel tones, warm neutrals, and subtle pattern play created depth without becoming busy.
It felt intentional but still easy. Nothing felt overworked.

The reception moved indoors, and the shift was immediate.
From soft outdoor light to a more immersive interior space with layered lighting, hanging installations, and a clear design direction. Woven pendants, greenery overhead, and a custom bar setup grounded the room while still keeping it open.
This contrast is what makes spaces like The Dunlin work so well. You get two distinct environments without losing cohesion.

As the night progressed, everything opened up.
The dance floor filled quickly and stayed that way. Live music, dense crowd energy, and a space that allowed people to fully move without restraint.
Images shift here. Less composed, more immediate. That balance matters.

Even for guests traveling in, the day never felt removed or staged.
It felt rooted in place.
For couples planning a Dunlin Auberge wedding or a Charleston destination wedding, this is the direction I aim to document. Film and digital, light-driven, and grounded in how the day actually unfolds.
