Every fall, I am blessed to have several couples reach out to me in the hopes of capturing their newly minted engagement with photos capturing the beauty of the Colorado fall colors in the landscape. When Kaele and Ryan reached out to me, I was elated.
We ventured out near Dillon, Colorado to capture these beautiful photos at Officers Gulch. This is one of my go-to locations for engagement sessions – see a winter engagement session at Officers Gulch here, and see a summer engagement session at Officers Gulch here. With gorgeous mountain views, access to water and a variety of locations, this fall mountain engagement location has it all.
With an engagement session, I encourage couples to bring a prop or two that help tell the story of their relationship. For Kaele and Ryan, they decided to bring a few cans of a local Colorado IPA to enjoy while we were taking photos. Whether it be champagne or a favorite local craft beer, the majority of couples do bring something to toast to this new chapter of their relationship.
As a both a photographer and a friend, Kaele and Ryan were both fun and easy to work with. Their natural chemistry had them transitioning from pose to pose with ease (maybe it helps that I was talking throughout the session and kept tripping over my own feet, making for a good laugh!). We had fun exploring the area – a spot Kaele and Ryan had never been to before. I love how we were able to make memories at a location they could possibly come back to in the future to reminisce.
As you scroll through the photos, take note of the two beautiful outfits Kaele and Ryan brought to wear. And let’s all take a moment to appreciate Kaele’s STUNNER of a blue maxi dress! That dress truly popped! Your looks for an engagement session don’t have to be matchy-matchy or over-the-top, they just have to be authentic to you.
