Monica and Zach chose to celebrate their upcoming wedding by taking engagement photos at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Garden of the Gods is a beautiful location to take summer engagement photos in Colorado, with gorgeous red rock and Pikes Peak in the background.

During the summer, Garden of the Gods has beautiful tall grasses that make for the most romantic engagement photos. There are grassy fields that create a scene so picturesque, it almost feels as though Garden of the Gods is hours away from any large town. However, it’s just a short drive from downtown Colorado Springs and the Colorado Springs airport.

Monica and Zach chose to have their engagement photos taken at Garden of the Gods because Colorado Springs is actually a vital location in the story of their relationship. It’s where they spent time cultivating their love, and they wanted a location that commemorates that chapter of their relationship. The engagement session is truly an opportunity to capture an important piece of your love story that cannot be expressed on the wedding day, such as a second location that is meaningful.

For style, Monica chose to wear two gorgeous floral dresses. The first floral maxi dress paired wonderfully with the tall grasses at Garden of the Gods, whereas the second midi dress created a beautiful contrast at High Point Overlook, with the red rock and Pikes Peak in the background.

There was a lot of flexibility when deciding the time to capture engagement photos at Garden of the Gods. While some locations are sunset-only locations, Garden of the Gods has locations that are suited for both sunrise and sunset. Monica and Zach’s photos were taken at sunset so that there could be moments captured with the sun setting behind Pikes Peak.
